As a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Recognised Training Centre, we offer training for both children and adults, whatever your skill level. Our enthusiastic team of qualified instructors is waiting for you!
Learn to Sail
We run courses within the RYA National and Youth Sailing Schemes for our members.
RYA courses are internationally recognised in many countries and are well regarded as the gold standard of sailing tuition (click here to see our RYA certificate).
RYA National Sailing Scheme

A series of two-day (weekend) courses for adults aged 16+ wanting to learn how to sail dinghies, enabling them to progress quickly from beginner to expert in a controlled, safe and enjoyable environment.

Level 1 - Start Sailing - By the end of the course you will be able to sail in light winds under supervision

Level 2 - Basic Skills - By the end of the course you will be able to sail and make decisions in good conditions

Level 3 - Better Sailing - By the end of the course you will be more confident in your sailing skills and techniques, and ready to progress onto the advanced modules
We also offer non-RYA private tuition sessions for adults aged 18+, which can be booked here
RYA Youth Sailing Scheme

We offer two-day (weekend) courses for young people aged 8 to 16 wanting to learn how to sail dinghies on their own, or in a team.

Stage 1 - A basic understanding of how to sail a boat, with experience of steering and handling the boat

Stage 2 - A range of sailing skills and knowledge to help in becoming a confident sailor

Stage 3 - Rigging, launching and sailing in any direction. Equivalent to Level 2 in the National Sailing Scheme

Stage 4 - Sail a double-handed boat as crew or helm, and solve a variety of problems afloat

Youth and Juniors
Our weekly Youth and Junior programme runs all year round following the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme.
During the summer holidays, we also offer Watersports Adventure Weeks for beginners (Stage 1 - 2), Intermediate (Stage 3 - 4) and advanced (following the advanced modules)

Learn to Paddle
We offer training in association with Paddleboard Maidenhead, a local business that provide fantastic training at Maidenhead Sailing Club and on the River Thames.
RYA Powerboat Scheme
We also run courses in the RYA Powerboat Scheme for members.
Due to COVID-19, these courses are temporarily on hold. We hope to re-start sometime during July, but this is yet to be confirmed.

Powerboat Level 2 (PB2) - Minimum age 12. This 2-day (typically weekend) course enables you to handle a powerboat in familiar waters. The course content includes: wearing a kill cord correctly, close-quarters boat handling, planing-speed manoeuvres and man overboard recovery. No previous experience is required.

Safety Boat - Minimum age 16. This course is for proficient powerboaters who already possess a PB2 qualification. This course covers recovery techniques for various craft. By the end of the course you will be able to provide safety cover in a racing or training environment.

First Aid, Instructor and Yatching Theory courses
Based on demand, we also offer RYA First Aid, Dinghy Assistant Instructor and Day Skipper/Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Theory courses.
