Watercolours on the Water - with Maidenhead Painting Club

Fancy giving some mindful creative art a go...?

If so, why not consider joining Maidenhead Painting Club who meet on Monday mornings at Maidenhead Sailing Club.

It's wonderful to share our fantastic lake and surrounding location with others - and here's an excerpt from the document below put together by Brian Ford, Chairperson, Maidenhead Painting Club.

On 11th August 2022, nine members from Maidenhead Painting Club settled down at “bonfire point” overlooking Summerleaze Lake and the landscape beyond.

Upon arrival MSC asked us not to sit near the Clubhouse or take any photographs of young club members attending a sailing course that morning. This was to help comply with the MSC “safeguarding policy”.

Two members of Maidenhead Sailing Club overseeing a sailing course kindly used a wheel-barrow to transport a double 4x4 gazebo tent from the clubhouse stores up to “bonfire point”.

We really appreciated this aptly named highpoint and the extra shade provided to keep cool and to help protect members from the intense summer heat. Whilst the majority of members sat near “bonfire point” three members sat near or between the boats on the hard landing.

Everyone enjoyed sketching, chatting and catching up at the lake and MSC would like the opportunity to paint and sketch from the clubhouse, decking and across the pontoons at some future date when courses are not being run.

Unlike Sky Arts Landscape painters of the year, the midday heat started to impact upon us all and we had to retire to cooler surroundings.
