Christmas Racing 2022

Each year we run our 🎄Christmas Series 🎄over 3 days including Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. It is run as a 3 pursuit race regatta with 2 to count, so if you are away for the first part of Christmas you can still take part. This is a really fun race to get involved with and we’ve had some great numbers participate over the years.

Racing is scheduled to start at 11am and is a single pursuit race.

  • Monday 26th December @ 11am

  • Saturday 31st December @ 11am

  • Sunday 1st January @ 11am

Volunteers Required

This series is run as a volunteer based race so we’ll need a race officer and some safety boats to cover the fleet. So please do come down and help out, get involved.

Icy Conditions

As many of you know the lake froze last weekend, and remains so. The longer term forecast is to warm up the week before Christmas, but potentially becoming colder from Boxing day. So keep close to the weather updates we’ll put out on WhatsApp/email whether the lake is ready for the series!

Wrap up warm to watch from our lovely new deck, for sailors and paddlers WINTER wetsuits or dry suits with appropriate warm layers are a MUST. In the event of anyone falling into the lake, please ensure that they are extracted immediately and brought ashore and warmed up following First Aid protocols (if in doubt consult the First Aid booklet by the kit/defibrillator in the wet room).

Look forward to seeing you there... 🎄
