COVID- 19 Easing of restrictions and partial return to the water

Welcome

Maidenhead Sailing Club is a member only club, located just to the North of the Thames side town of Maidenhead, on a gravel pit.  We have available to us 51 acres of water that overlooks the countryside of Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire.  Sailing and Paddlesports are available all year round, with events and coaching and available.  We are a family oriented club, with sailing to satisfy all members of the family. There is a strong Youth and Juniors section.  It is possible to sail your own boat or use your paddleboard, kayak etc   at anytime.  Boats and boards are available to hire dependant on ability....  New members are always welcome.

Eric Twiname Youth and Junior Team Racing Championship 2014, at Oxford Sailing Club, Farmoor Reservoir, 18 – 19 October 2014.

This annual two-day event, one of the highlights of the RYA’s Racing calendar, was very popular with the Junior and Youth class associations, clubs, schools and individual teams around the country competing over a series of head-to-head team races.  The event provides the nation’s young sailors the opportunity to develop their boat handling, rule understanding and team work whilst racing in a fun yet competitive arena.

Maidenhead Sailing Club was represented well in the Junior section by Sacha, Alec, Ellie, Leo, Lillian, Thomas and Paul, who should be congratulated for their valiant efforts over two day's racing in challenging conditions against some very strong teams.  Sailing RS Fevas in a series of back to back races, the MSC team challenged hard over the weekend, enjoying some close racing and some promising starts. Although never in the top positions, the MSC team showed courage and determination as the wind strength built.  As they finally came off the water on Sunday afternoon gusts were reaching 30 knots and racing was suspended when gusts reached 40 knots.  Hurricane Gonzalo closing out an eventful weekend!
