1 Youth & Junior Watersports Adventure Week: Mon 20th-Fri 24th July - Full week Members £225, non-Members £275 (Organiser Gail Head)
The Youth and Junior Watersports Adventure Week (20th-24th July) will be a fun week of sailing and other water-based activities for experienced sailors. The themed activities and games are designed to enhance your skills and will be coached at a 1:3 to 1:5 ratio, and there will also be free time on the water. Activities will be finalised based on the weather conditions and the COVID-19 situation, but would usually include Swallows and Amazons, Pirates of the Carribean, Spanish Armada, Robinson Crusoe, Round the World in 80 minutes etc, Sessions are expected to run from 9.30 to 4.30pm, with the opportunity to take part in the club's Thursday evening race. We are hoping to include camping on the Wednesday and Thursday nights. All boat hire and certificates are included in the cost. The non-members weekly price also includes 1 year of junior membership. Afternoon Training Slots on the Water Sports Week 20-24th July
The Adult / Youth Training Slots will include the opportunity to book a refresher sail, focus on skills for a specific stage or level, try out a Laser or other boat in a coached environment or work on one of the RYA advanced modules such as start racing or sailing with spinnakers. These will run on the afternoons of the watersports weeks, and on selected dates through the summer and will be delivered by our home grown training team including Leo who is current Junior World Champion in Toppers.
2 Youth & Junior Stage 1-2 Sailing and Activities Week: Mon 27th to Fri 31st July. Organiser John Williams
The activity week will consist of RYA Stage 1-2 course in the five mornings. In the afternoons we will be introducing them to the clubs Paddle boards and Kayaks or more free sailing. From Wednesday we are planning some activities which will use the skills built up over the few days previously.
The sailing course that we be working towards is the RYA YSS Stages 1-3 courses, will be taught by our RYA Dinghy Instructors in Groups of Three, with support from power boats, following the Maidenhead Sailing Club, RYA and Governments Restrictions Guidelines. This will be updated when we have further information on the restrictions at the time.
· 8-10 years of age – Oppies (6 places)
· 10-12 Years of age – Toppers or Topaz (6 places)
We will have limited spaces in the afternoons for refreshers
