Solo Open Meeting

 NOTICE OF RACE

 

1. Organising Authority: The organising authority is Maidenhead Sailing Club.

 

2. Rules: Racing will take place under the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2009-2012, the prescription of the RYA, the appropriate class rules and the sailing instructions for the event.

 

3. Entry Criteria: Open event.

 

4. Entry Fee: There will be an entry fee of £12.00 per boat (includes 1x lunch and 1x afternoon tea). Entries will be made on the official entry form.

 

5. Registration: Registration will be from 09-15 on April 18^th.

 

6. Briefing: There will be a briefing for all competitors at 10-30 on April 18th

 

7. Schedule of Races: It is intended to hold three races. The earliest warning signal shall be 10-55.

 

8. Scoring system: Scoring will be in accordance with RRS appendix A using the low point system. If three races are completed, 2 to count. If less than 3 races are completed they will all count.

 

9. Sailing Instructions: Sailing instructions will be available from Maidenhead SC on the day of the Open Meeting.

 

10. Prize giving: The prize giving will be held as soon as possible after completion of the last race of the event.

 

11. Insurance: Competitors are required to hold third party insurance for racing of at least £3,000,000

 

12. Location: Maidenhead SC is located on a gravel pit between Maidenhead and Cookham, off Lake View, Summerleaze Road in Maidenhead (www.maidenheadsc.org.uk).

 

13. Facilities: We have parking for up to 50 cars, changing rooms, showers and a bar.

 

14. Galley: The galley will be open for hot food and drinks during the event.

 

15. Measurement: All boats are expected to meet the Solo Association’s measurement rulings.
