Conditions turn wild

Winds of up to 40 knots have been battering the Volvo Ocean Race fleet. The worst damage so far is a broken boom for Green Dragon. We have a fantastic photo gallery from the leg 2 start.

Loïck Peyron on Gitana Eighty is back in the lead on day 10 of the Vendée Globe.

The ISAF Council ignored the recommendations of their Equipment, Events and Women's Committees and kept the 470 instead of opting for the 29XX for the Women's Two Person Dinghy at the 2012 Olympics. The RYA has expressed its disappointment at this decision.

Ben Ainslie and Alessandra Sensini have won the ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Awards.

The December issue of Y&Y is out now with the 2008 Dinghy Classes Guide FREE inside.

Be sure to get your entry for the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show 2009 Photography Competition in by Friday 21st November. This is your chance to have the cover image for the 2009 RYA Volvo Dinghy Show Guide.
