Welcome

Maidenhead Sailing Club offers a warm welcome to new members. Come and sail on our 51 acre lake with fine views over open countryside.  We offer sailing every week of the year with a full season of events for you to join in.  We are a family friendly club with a strong Youth and Junior section. Sail your own boat or hire one of the club's boats, we have over 24 to choose from to suit all abilities...

Hello everyone,

Well, summer has come and gone, but just because it's autumn, it doesn't mean sailing is over for the year. Highlights for this month have to be Rockley for our Youth & Juniors, and the infamous Night Sail.

Here are the activities for September:

2:   Saturday social sailing
3:   Sunday racing (3 x Handicap) N.B. The Maidenhead half marathon is on, so you need to get      down early to the club - before 9am for those coming in the A4 end, and 9:30am for members coming from north of Maidenhead.
5:   GPC meeting
7:   Thursday evening sailing (last for the year)
       Bar open
9:   Saturday social sailing
10:  Sunday racing (Pursuit + Class)
12:  SC meeting
16:  Y&J ROCKLEY

It's been good to see some of our newest members out on the water during summer - some of them have even been racing!

If you haven't managed a sail this summer, the Night Sail is a good one to finish on, so come down and join in the fun. Or just come down to watch. It's a relaxing way to spend an evening.

Happy sailing,

This month, we are looking for volunteers to help with training and to provide safety boat cover, so, if you have a few hours available, we would love to see you down at the club. Just let a committee member know that you will be happy to help, and when. Your participation is what makes MSC the success it is.

See you on the water,

Fancy giving sailing a try?

Come along to our annual Big Picnic which coincides this year with the RYA event Push The Boat Out.  Try sailing, meet club members and have an enjoyable day in beautiful surroundings.

Self service BBQ (bring your own food) and free boat hire from 11am-4pm.

On Saturday, 13th May 14 young sailors (7 home competitors and 7 travellers from Burghfield, Papercourt and Goring on Thames) competed in the Maidenhead SC Topper and Optimist Open.

The sailors were blessed with good weather, mild, some sun in the afternoon, a bit of a variable wind from the south and south-west with a few gusts at times.  The children coped admirably (even with a few capsizes).  Well done to all!

Thank you very much to the race crew who ran three excellent races.  A bit thank you to everyone else who contributed - coaches on the water, safety boat helms and crews, media team, pontoon team, those in the kitchen preparing and serving good and everyone else who got stuck in and volunteered, helping the event to run so smoothly and successfully.

A big thank you to all who came and made our Open Day a tremendous success. We were fortunate with some good breeze and the sun did try and come out after some grey skies early in the event. The club would like to thank our dedicated members for coming down and putting on a great show, whether you helped with parking, making cakes, serving behind the bar or kitchen, offering lifejacket assistance or taking guests out on the lake. We couldn't have done it without you.

As a result we've had a record number of new members this year and we'd especially like to give a warm welcome to all those who've joined up on the day or subsequently this week.
